Feb. 21--If riots over Danish caricatures of the Prophet Mohammed are to be stopped, it will require a firm stand from Muslim clerics in Arab nations demanding that the protests end, said Imam Yahya Hendi, who will speak at the Islamic Center of Greater Toledo on Saturday.
"There has to be aggressive, assertive Muslim leadership that stands up and says, 'No, that's it,' " said Imam Hendi, the Muslim chaplain at Georgetown University and a spokesman for the Islamic Jurisprudence Council of North America.
"The clerics have to say 'No,' and it has to be an unwavering, unchangeable direct order," he told The Blade yesterday. ...
