MALIBU, Calif. - Cole Gillespie and Shea McFeely each had three hits to help Oregon State beat Pepperdine, 7-6, in the completion of a suspended game as the Beavers split the first two games of its nonconference series Saturday against the Waves at Eddy D. Field Stadium.
Later in the day, the sixth-ranked Beavers lost to the 14th-ranked Waves, 6-2.
The Beavers (3-2) resumed the game that had been suspended Friday because of darkness with a 6-2 lead heading into the bottom of the seventh inning. The Waves (5-4) quickly tied the score with four runs in the bottom of the seventh off reliever Kevin Gunderson.
