MALAYSIA'S UMW POSTS 95 PCT JUMP IN YR PRE-TAX PROFIT
KUALA LUMPUR - UMW Holdings Berhad (KLSE:4588) has chalked up a 95 per cent jump in annual group pre-tax profit to RM682.9 million (US$183.6 million), underpinned by strong sales of vehicle and industrial equipment.
Higher demand for oil and gas tubular goods manufactured by its overseas subsidiary also helped to lift profit and revenue, it said in a filing to Bursa Malaysia on Feb 21.
