In 1991 Lohmann Therapy Systems, a subsidiary of a $400-million German pharmaceutical firm, came to the U.S. looking for a base from which to supply the U.S. markets. The company desired a location in the Northease, close to other pharmaceutical companies, and a large, versatile manufacturing facility.
It found both in West Caldwell, New Jersey. Lohmann purchased and is renovating the 150,000 square-foot Hudson Vitamin Building, which when fully operational will employ 125 people.
