THE $799 Toshiba Satellite L25 is a no-frills, no-thrills laptop adequate for simple tasks, such as e-mail, word processing, and Web browsing, but not much else. Despite the rock-bottom price, this thin-and-light notebook's less-than-stellar performance and battery life left us underwhelmed.
The L25 is available in one low-end, fixed configuration. Our test unit included a 1.5GHz Intel Celeron M processor, a paltry 256MB of slow 333MHz RAM, and a decent-size 60GB hard drive with a 5,400rpm spin rate. 3D graphics were handled by a weak integrated ATI Radeon Xpress graphics processing unit.
