Feb. 25--DECATUR -- Songs of praise vibrated the books on the shelves Friday night in the Decatur Public Library. In its second year, the library program, "Lift Every Voice and Sing: A Gospel Celebration," played to a full house in the Madden Auditorium. There were performances from Life Changer's Church, First Lady Shirley Cooper of Church of the Living God Temple 2, Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, The Carson Family Singers and the Rev. Lester Irons. "Compared to last year, this is unbelievable," said Rhalo Thomas, who has been in charge of the program the past two years. "The turnout is a testament to the success (of this program)." ...

...On April 9, the Wilbur Cross Hall of Fame Committee will induct the 1963 Wilbur Cross undefeated state football champions into its Hall of Fame.
