Oswego city councilors shot down a bar owner's request last week to put a food tent and portable toilets outside his tavern during an annual bar hop.
Robert McGrath, owner of the Club House Tavern on West Second Street, asked councilors if he could put two portable toilets and a 10-foot by 10-foot food tent in public space to accommodate students taking part in this year's Bridge Street Run on May 12.
That sparked some debate.
