FONTANA, Calif. -- Kurt Busch's Intrepid wins Nextel Cup pole; Biffle starts second
FONTANA, Calif. - Kurt Busch, driving a 2004 Dodge Intrepid instead of the Charger, won the pole for Sunday's Auto Club 500 with a lap of 187.086mph at California Speedway. It was Busch's fourth career pole and his first since November 2004 .
Greg Biffle, who won this race last year, starts second after posting a lap of 186.186. Jimmie Johnson was third, with Joe Gibbs Racing rookies J.J. Yeley and Denny Hamlin completing the top five.
Scott Riggs, who failed to qualify for last week's Daytona 500, starts 14th. Jeff Gordon qualified ...
