Feb. 27--The Southfield City Council is expected to decide tonight whether to approve a proposal for residential development that would help change the face of 8 Mile.The plan calls for building 182 condominiums, priced at about $175,000 each, on 8 Mile between Rutland and Northland Drive, said developer Jamal Kalabat, owner of Farmington Hills-based Kalabat Cos.The project includes the construction of a coffee shop and cleaning business on the corner of 8 Mile and Rutland.
"This is a gateway to the City of Southfield," Kalabat said Thursday. The project "changes the atmosphere of the area and gives a different image."And ...
