Feb. 27--What does it take for a nascent company to land investment backing from a picky venture capitalist?
"It's all about the viability of the business model," said Chris Onan of Denver's Appian Ventures. "It's also about the credibility of (the management team) to generate revenue and profits." Those qualities are a good start, but there's no substitute for delivering a blockbuster product in a hot industry, said Steve Hubbard of Denver's Daniels & Associates, an investment consulting firm.
