ONE hundred forty-three candidates from 42 countries held up their right hands during an Army and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services-led ceremony in the Al-Faw Palace rotunda near Camp Victory, Iraq.
The oath of citizenship of the United States includes the words "... that I will perform noncombatant service in the armed forces of the United States of America when required by law."
