Kazakhstan plans to boost oil output 30% by 2010
ASTANA. Feb 28 (Interfax-Kazakhstan) - Kazakhstan hopes its oil production, buoyed by increases in oil output at the western Tengiz oil deposit, will grow 30% by 2010, as compared with 2005, the country's Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Baktykozha Izmukhambetov told Interfax-Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan plans to boost gas output to more than 40 bcm and double exports to 15 bcm by 2010, Izmukhambetov said. He said accomplishing a strong increase in oil production is closed tied to developing infrastructure to develop fields and transport systems.
