A study has found that a health food containing peppermint extract in a tablet formulation has the possibility to improve symptoms of atopic dermatitis, according to Kobayashi Pharmaceutical, a Japanese manufacturer and wholesaler of over- the-counter medicines, deodorizers and sanitary products, based in Osaka, announced at the eighth congress of the Japanese Society for Complementary and Alternative Medicine.
In the study, 27 patients with mild-to-moderate atopic dermatitis took three tablets of an experimental meal containing extract powder of peppermint per day for four weeks.
