What do an angle, a clown and a parrot have in common? A lot if we're talking about the characteristics and lifestyles of the regal angelfish, the clown trigger and the parrotfish.
There are thousands of species of fish that inhabit our oceans and lakes. There are freshwater and saltwater fish; deep-sea fish, mid-water fish and bottom dwellers; the predators and the prey. All share similar characteristics--fins, scales, gills, a system a vertebrae and a cold-blooded, streamlined physical structure. Despite the similarities, each species is unique, just like the variety of junior high students I teach every day.
