Mar. 1--Oklahoma high school basketball players come out on the court early and kiss the hardwood floor. They bring out video cameras and scan the old cavernous arena. They take in the smell of stale popcorn and rodeos past.
Fans with painted faces and banners cram against a gate, waiting to race to their seats. The arena lights flash on minutes before tip-off, setting off gasps and cheers. "Oklahoma!" blares through the speakers.
