Mar. 1--TAVARES -- School Board members expressed continued unease with Superintendent Anna Cowin's management of the district Monday and urged her to work with them to improve the education of children.
Board member Kyleen Fischer said she was concerned about a number of schools that were considering moves to become charter campuses because they did not like Cowin's stewardship. Fischer asked her colleagues to give principals more control over how to spend money in their schools, returning to a "site-based management" model the board has long favored.
