The British Food & Drink Federation calls it 'the quiet revolution', companies that reformulate their products. That definitely applies to trans fats. Nestle, for instance, is conducting trials in a new South-American production unit with a technology developed by Novozymes. In the summer of 2005 that same company Novozymes was given an award by the American Environmental Protection Agency.

On 1 January 2006 the food industry will more or less say goodbye to the controversial ingredients, when the American authorities will oblige manufacturers to state on their products how much trans fatty acids they contain.
