Mar. 3--Neighbors are resisting a proposal by a Santa Fe remodeler to rezone a rundown property on Upper Canyon Road once owned by artist Janet Lippincott. Tom and Karen Tiegler of Santa Fe bought the adobe compound on Camino Militar in December from St. John's College for $735,000. They hope to renovate Lippincott's gallery and two other buildings and build a new residence on the other side of the one-acre lot. The property is currently zoned R-1, but the Tieglers seek R-2 zoning. Changing the zoning to R-2, neighbors fear, could set the wrong precedent.
