Pastrana is a third class municipality in Leyte but it is trying its best to be at par with the other municipalities. Sometimes referred to as aland of fairies,aa it is an interior town in the province of Leyte. Geographically, it is in the southwestern part of the province and about 27 kilometers away from Tacloban City. Its main assets are its rice fields and coconut plantations. The people are peace-loving, population as of latest count is 17,000 with 90 percent Catholics. The climate is cool and the soil is fertile.
