DETROIT--Nov. 12--The Detroit Free Press is joining the CompuServe Information Service to provide on-line news and information about Michigan and the auto industry to computer users worldwide. The service will begin around the first of the year.
The Free Press will join several other newspapers, including the Chicago Tribune and the San Jose Mercury-News, linking up with commercial on-line services such as CompuServe, America Online and Prodigy.
"Our new relationship with CompuServe has exciting possibilities," said Free Press Executive Editor Heath Meriwether. "Through CompuServe, the Free Press will learn a lot about new ways to share information among readers, our staff ...
