Marty Morgan always gets first crack at Cole Konrad.
The prematch ritual began two years ago, midway through Konrad's freshman season as a Gophers wrestler. With a few choice words and a couple of significant cuffs to the side of the head, Morgan, a Gophers assistant coach and former NCAA champion, helps take the otherwise mild-mannered Konrad where he wants to go.
Once he gets there, the Gophers' 6-4, 285-pound heavyweight is zero fun to be around.
