IT MAY have been on tour for over six months but next Wednesday at the Empire Theatre, Liverpool will be the big night for the National Theatre production of My Fair Lady.
It will be exactly 50 years to the day since the Lerner and Loew musical opened in New York with Liverpool-born Rex Harrison in the leading role of Professor Higgins.
It went on to become one of the most successful shows in musical theatre history.
The role has now been taken on by Christopher Cazenove, a television favourite from series like The Duchess of Duke Street, Dynasty and most recently Judge John Deed.
