Mar. 8--Political veterans and newcomers alike will test a handful of south and southwest suburban legislators in the March 21 primary election. Incumbents facing challengers include state Reps. Robert Rita (D-Blue Island) in the 28th House District, David Miller (D-Calumet City) in the 29th, Rene Kosel (R-New Lenox) in the 81st and James Durkin (R-Western Springs) in the 82nd. With no Republicans running in the primaries in either the 28th or 29th, the Democratic primary winners are virtually assured of victory in November. In the 81st District, no Democrats have filed.
