Mar. 4--NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- After another harrowing experience at Yale's John J. Lee Amphitheatre last night, Penn was able to claim its second Ivy League basketball championship in as many seasons.
And with a 57-55 squeaker over the Bulldogs, the Quakers became the first team to secure a berth in the NCAA tournament. With two regular-season games remaining, Penn is 19-7 overall and 11-1 in the Ancient Eight.
"It never gets old," said Penn coach Fran Dunphy, who collected his 10th Ivy League title. "It's a wonderful feeling. [The players] know they can sit in that room on Selection Sunday and see where they're going to play. ...
