10 MARCH 2006 HONIARA (Pacnews) - Solomon Islands Labour Party has accused Taiwan of involving itself in local politics.
Party President Joses Tuhanuku made the accusation today when he launched the party's election campaign in the capital, Honiara.
He said the involvement of Taiwanese high commission in Solomon Islands was very "shocking."
Mr Tuhanuku said the embassy was "acting like a local political party, sponsoring candidates, including that of his constituency, Rennell-Bellona."
