The redrawing of the state's Empire Zone boundaries has caused frustrating delays for economic development officials in Syracuse.
Until the city's reconfigured Empire Zone gets approved by the state, city officials said they aren't aggressively marketing the program's tax benefits to businesses that may become eligible for the first time.
Syracuse officials proposed in December including sections of Burnet Avenue, Butternut Street and Geddes Street in its Empire Zone for the first time, said Dave Michel, Syracuse director of economic development.
