GEOCONNEXION: How did you conceive the idea to begin GAF AG in the beginning?

RHAYDN: A 13 year old experience in the field of remote sensing with emphasis on image processing applications at the University of Munich, the fascination working with the "new pictures of the earth", the strong desire to establish an own business and the firm conviction that the then emerging remote sensing market can be successfully developed. One condition for the jump into the cold water was a solid financing of the "start-up" phase, which was made available by two shareholding partners of GAF
