In this age of accountability, empiricism, outcome measures, and treatment planning, what has often been lost along the way is the attention to process. It is not that the former concepts are not important--they certainly are. However, if one loses touch with the process, one loses touch with the foundation on which all of these other concepts are based. Whereas skeptics might scoff at the notion that the Tao can provide something of use to group practitioners, many aspects of what we present in this article will seem quite familiar to experienced group leaders.
