Votes from Tuesday night's straw poll were still being counted when Attorney General Mike Hatch held a news conference to tout his endorsement for governor by ACORN, an advocacy group for low-income families and one of the state's most aggressively liberal organizations.

The endorsement could help Hatch with some activists within DFL Party ranks, which gave him a clear but less than overwhelming win in the straw poll.
