With fewer than half of the 711,498 eligible Minnesotans enrolled in the new Medicare Part D drug benefit, counselors are scouring libraries, churches, apartment complexes and senior centers for likely candidates. They're searching for more than 391,000 aged Minnesotans who government officials believe have no "creditable" drug coverage - that is, coverage at least as good as that offered by the new Medicare program.
Only six states have lower percentages of beneficiaries with drug coverage than Minnesota.
