SO, after all the hype and hoopla, the sex and scandal, it's Ming the Mirthless for the Liberal Democrats - stiff, starched and stoical, less exhilarating than eversoslightly embalmed.
The gorgeous suits and the costly, monogrammed shirts, the notorious Campbell reserve - he licks his lips at moments of high emotion, like a thoughtful lizard - have in due course entombed Sir Menzies Campbell in the leadership of our third force.
