This year's Marshall Field's and Bachman's Spring Flower Show is Belgian floral artist Daniel Ost's modern interpretation of the Silk Road, an ancient trade route once traveled by the famous explorer. The route -- actually a series of routes over land and water -- stretched thousands of miles from Asia to the Middle East to the Mediterranean. It helped forge connections and trade between cultures.
