MESA, Ariz. _ The unresolved status of general manager Jim Hendry and manager Dusty Baker is the last thing anyone wants to talk about in spring training.
Cubs President Andy MacPhail says he has nothing new to report on Hendry's status. Hendry can't comment on Baker's future until he gets his own extension. And Baker won't talk about a new deal because it's out of his hands.
The Cubs operate on the premise that because nothing is imminent and no one is talking about it, there's really no reason to discuss the matter.
