Mar. 11--It took two days to get here, but by the time you read this, the helmet-wearing dominoes of the NFL will have begun falling.
Free agency commenced at 12:01 this morning, meaning a glut of players -- such as quarterback Drew Brees, running back Edgerrin James and kicker Adam Vinatieri -- flooded a sellers' market made possible by Wednesday's extension to the league's collective bargaining agreement between NFL owners and the players union.
By agreeing to six more years of labor peace, the league raised the 2006 salary cap to $102 million -- up from the $94.5 million figure it would have been with no extension -- and ...
