Idyllic is a much-overused term when describing English villages - but in Scholes' case it is entirely appropriate.
When strolling round the village on a summer Sunday afternoon one can hear the sound of leather on willow as a village cricket match is in full swing and the fields are golden with hay.
Only the sound of the occasional car breaks the peace.
