Mar. 14--The Duluth News Tribune's association with Ridder Publications Inc. and later Knight Ridder Inc., has meant strong, stable newspaper ownership in the community for 70 years. McClatchy Co., the winning bidder for the 32-newspaper Knight Ridder chain, announced Monday that it will turn around and sell a dozen of those papers, including the News Tribune.
