Mar. 14--Big Boy Restaurants, known for its iconic statue of a chubby kid holding a plate-size hamburger, will serve up its first Central Florida restaurant at the end of this month.
The revamped Big Boy chain, which left Florida under a different franchise owner more than a decade ago, plans to open in Altamonte Springs in the Gateway Crossings Shopping Center on State Road 434.
At least six restaurants are planned for the Orlando area during the next five years.
