Look in the news for any successful major charitable entertainment event in the metro Jackson area and you'll be hard-pressed to find a name other than Holly Lange.
In 2002, despite nasty weather, Lange played an integral role in helping raise $100,000 for Trustmark Bank's Red Beans and Rice celebration in downtown Jackson, the largest fund raising event for Stewpot Community Services. The ninth-annual benefit attracted 600 hungry folks, with many sloshing around in rubber boots, who paid $35,000 more than the previous year to sample food by 39 contestants.
