CORVALLIS - Molly Frogge made two free throws with 28 seconds left in the game to give Scappoose a three-point lead as the Indians defeated Ontario 36-35 in a consolation semifinal of the Class 3A girls basketball tournament at Gill Coliseum on Thursday.
Scappoose (18-6) advanced to meet Marist in the fourth-sixth place game at 9 a.m. on Saturday. Ontario finished its season with a 25-5 record.
The Tigers led 22-16 at the 6:55 mark of the third quarter and still had a 34-30 lead with 3:08 left in the game before the Indians tied the score at 34-34 on a pair of free throws by Katie Smith with 1:09 remaining.
