Mar. 15--LODI - The Lodi City Council is expected to strike a deal with two wineries tonight trading relatively inexpensive access to its wastewater treatment plant in exchange for the wineries' participation in opening a joint wine-tasting center in downtown Lodi.
The two wineries, Jessie's Grove and Michael-David, are interested in trucking winery effluent to the White Slough Wastewater Treatment plant, off Interstate 5 near Highway 12.
The city long has been interested in developing a wine-tasting center in its downtown core as a means to strengthen the downtown business community.
