ANAHEIM, Calif. _ Team USA is leading a charmed life in the World Baseball Classic.
For the second time in two rounds of competition, the Americans avoided elimination Wednesday night with help from another country. Korea's thrilling 2-1 victory over arch-rival Japan before 39,679 raucous fans at Angel Stadium paved the way for Team USA to advance to the semifinals.
The victory gave Korea a perfect 3-0 record in the second round and a berth in the semifinals, while Japan fell to 1-2.
