Lawmaking isn't always the best route
"The sky is falling. The sky is falling." It is just too bad that old Chicken Little didn't have the Democrats in his day. They know how to fix any problem. Their solution to all the world's woes is to throw a law at them. Of course they never seem to understand the total ramifications of the laws they create.
So some people aren't wearing seat belts. Let's make a law that can allow a cop to pull over anyone, at any time to check on this bad thing. Of course, it gives a cop a ready-made excuse to be able to say that the real reason I pulled over this minority or youth or anyone they choose, was to check on their seat ...
