Mar. 16--ON THE WEB: www.thishardland.net He drives a '69 Chevy with a 396, fuely heads and a Hurst on the floor. His name is Nicholas Moretti, and with any luck, he's coming to your TV screen. Moretti is a character created by Sam Steele, a WVU journalism grad student. Steele, like Moretti -- and like the songwriter who inspired them both -- has a dream. That dream is a weekly TV series called "This Hard Land." Yes, that's the name of a Bruce Springsteen song. And the car Moretti drives is from a Springsteen song. In fact, most of the characters in Steele's series in development have some Boss basis.
