Mar. 16--LODI - Lodi city officials hope a deal struck with two local wineries Wednesday night will be one of many steps toward developing a downtown scene of wine-tasting rooms, boutique hotels and restaurants.
The Lodi City Council voted 4-0, with Mayor Susan Hitchcock absent, to approve a memorandum of understanding with the Michael-David and Jesse's Grove wineries, providing the wineries an inexpensive rate to truck winery waste into the city's White Slough wastewater treatment plant.
