Mar. 16--Prospecting for hydrocarbon in the Andaman Sea remains a promising investment, given the rising prices of oil and the advancement of technology for petroleum exploration.
Krairit Nilkuha, director-general of the Mineral Fuels Department, said Malaysian company Mitra Corp had submitted its application for concession rights in petroleum exploration and production in the A5/48 Block, covering 25,270 square kilometres, and the A6/48 Block, covering 23,270 sq km, located offshore in the Andaman Sea.
