Mar. 6--Two Los Angeles investment firms formed a new company last month and tucked a half-century-old Corona hospital mattress maker under their cover.
"It's business as usual" at AMF Support Surfaces Inc. following its acquisition by Anodyne Medical Device Inc. in Los Angeles, said Patrick Maciariello, vice president of The Compass Group International LLC, a Los Angeles investment firm. AMF, which began in Long Beach around 1940, has an estimated 100 employees, Maciariello said.
AMF President Charles Curtis Wyatt did not return a call seeking comment.
