Oakland, Calif. -- One night earlier, in a desperate attempt to motivate and summon confidence, Kevin Garnett had challenged the Timberwolves to at least end a miserable road trip in a positive way. "It's our last chance," Garnett had said late Wednesday in Los Angeles, after the Wolves had gone 0-for-5. "If you don't want to play, don't come to the gym. If you don't believe we can win, stay in the hotel."
They should have stayed in the hotel. Or better yet, never have left home nine days ago.
