CELTIC defender Stephen McManus courageously placed personal grief to one side to make his Celtic debut at Easter Road almost precisely two years ago.
Only 48 hours prior to his long-awaited bow against Hibernian, the youngster lost his paternal grandfather and greatest supporter, Charlie.
McManus dedicated h i s performance to his 'Papa', who had travelled the length and breadth of the country to cheer him in youth and reserve-team games.
The 23-year- old defender - who will return to Easter Road tomorrow - yesterday felt compelled to recall the support of his family as he signed a contract extension to stay at Parkhead until 2008.
