Madison County may not be the oldest, largest or most populated of the 20 U.S. counties that share its name, but it is the only one celebrating its 200th birthday this week..
Organizers have been planning events for the county's bicentennial year for two years. Tuesday will be the highlight of the year-long celebration because it's the very day Madison County was incorporated 200 years ago.
