From To Touch Not, To Melt Not 
 
   yesterday morning i woke from a dream in which 
   i was eating a wineglass, i had to very 
   conscientiously grind the bits and 
   this prevented me from speaking, my mouth 
   was dangerously full, i spoke to alixe with 
   difficulty. 
 
   this morning i dreamt of a break-in. 
   it was the second one and everything was destroyed, on waking, 
   i thought a long time about everything that was 
   in the apartment. 
   later, when I take the last turn 
   in the hall, i will see. 
   in the dream i thought that a gold ball 
   my parents had given alixe would 
   have surely disappeared. 
 
   now that war has been declared the era
